Virtual Reality! The Wave of the FUTURE!
Five virtual reality worlds made over the course of the semester, one or two weeks per project, in teams of four or five. My roles included programming, modeling / rigging / animating, script writing, creative direction as a producer, sound and music composition, and dancing like a giant banana. All worlds are rendered in real-time and 'performed' interactively, usually through a head mounted display.
The Visitor
This was a one-night solo project, everything you see and hear. Be nice to the visitor. He just wants you to like him back.
"Twenty to midnight, I walk to my window. Twenty years I've waited here..." This short film is about a little girl in her room, where each time she walks to her window, she is twenty years older. This was my first group animation project. I wrote and 'directed' the film and the music.
comment from a viewer:
"Everyone was mind f*cked when it ended"
Best of Times
Watch us destroy the world in just four minutes! Our second group project, this pretentious computer animated short film observes a small town one hour before the end of the world. I was responsible primarily for cinematography, modeling and physics, and the original music.
The Really Really Big Machine
A Rube Goldberg style machine gone awry - a destructive chain reaction beheads stuffed animals, topples cities, and spans the globe, but accomplishes little.
Drag: Music, Performance, Culture
On Valentines Day 2003, I brought video cameras and a small crew to interview seven of Virginia's award winning female impersonators. Including Max, Jessica Jade, and the regal Jennifer Deville. This 45-minute documentary covers everything from makeup to violence, the transformation of man into woman, the motivation behind the profession, and stirring performances.
